First off Happy New Year. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas break.
Do you have 2020 vision? I don’t mean perfect eyesight! Do you have a well thought out vision for your life, and do you have a strategy to achieve it?
Even though I’ve used the phrase 2020 vision, you don’t need to get hung up on it being a ‘perfect’ vision of your future. What do you want to spend your life doing? In a perfect world, what would you spend your time doing today? What would a perfect week look like? What about a perfect year? Do you have a bucket list of holiday destinations, an unrealised dream career or do you want to spend more time with your family?
By building a vision of your future life and what it looks like, you can start to take steps to establish how you get there. What changes do you need to make? What do you need to get rid of from your life? What do you need to add? How will you fund your lifestyle?
All of this is important, but the central vision of your future life is what’s essential. Without this ‘North Star’, you run the risk of drifting through life and having regrets. What were you doing in the year 2000? I don’t know about you, but it feels like only yesterday. And yet, that was 20 years ago! Have you spent the last 20 years doing things you love? You may have, you may not.
Whether you have or haven’t, now is the time to create (or revisit) that future vision and ensure you live life on purpose. There’s a reason our company is called ‘Clear Vision’ Financial Planning Ltd. The ‘clear vision’ of your future desired life is essential to our work in helping our clients structure their finances to live their best life.
If you know someone who would like some help in designing their 2020 vision and then figuring out how to fund it, please do get in touch.
